WWE’s hottest event of the summer is mere hours away, with the man who conquered Undertaker’s legendary streak set poised to knock John Cena from the top – claiming the WWE title in the process.
WWE Pre Show Match: Rob Van Dam Vs Cesaro.
For once a pre show match could actually be entertaining and filled with dare I say actual wrestling. Would expect the Swiss Superman Cesaro to come out on top of this one.
Winner – Cesaro.
Flag Match Jack Swagger Vs Rusev
The momentous push that Russev is receiving will undoubtedly be the deciding factor in this match-up with the Super Athlete proving his dominance over the All American Jack Swagger in an all out brawl, this should last a little longer than Russev’ usual squash fare though and could be a chance for his wrestling ability to shine.
Expect Lana to pile on the Anti-US heat especially with this being a flag match and having the crowd going wild.
Winner – Rusev.
Divas Championship AJ Lee Vs Paige.
After suffering an injury on Smackdown it will be interesting to see how this one plays out, Heel Paige is something to watch and this feud could spark a decent amount of matches in the divas roster; which is expanding with women who can actually wrestle- only a positive in my opinion.
If Aj is set to take time off dropping the belt and selling the injury would be a way to do it as well as piling the heat on Paige in the process.
Winner and New Divas Champion Paige.
Intercontinental Championship Match The Miz (c) Vs Dolph Ziggler.
Since his return from “hollywood” The Miz has been more obnoxious than usual (if that’s actually possible) and hopefully Dolph Ziggler can knock him down a peg or two and injecting a new lease of life into the underused and unappreciated IC belt this match could be a catalyst for the belt and start a significant change in the mid card.
Show off Dolph Ziggler to win.
Stephanie McMahon Vs Brie Bella.
after the god-awful affair storyline which even Daniel Bryan himself dismissed this could finally and thankfully be the end of this stupid filler feud. Always one for keeping the underdog down I fully expect Stephanie McMahon to prove her dominance over Brie and snatch the victory.
Stephanie McMahon to win.
Chris Jericho Vs Bray Wyatt
After losing constantly to John Cena in a entertaining yet infuriating feud Chris Jericho is the man to do the job for Bray Wyatt and make him look like a million dollars in the process. Nicely built up over the past few weeks and with an immense amount of talent on display this has the potential (alongside Ambrose/Rollins) to steal the show and be the one fans are talking about in the morning.
The ominous Bray Wyatt oozes charisma coupled with his incredible in ring presence added to that of Y2J make this an exciting opportunity to offer something different from the main event scene and this is one to watch for sure expect solid in ring psychology from both competitors and a hard fought brawl between the two.
Bray Wyatt to Win and to gather more momentum from the impressive Chris Jericho; expect big things to come from this one.
Randy Orton Vs Roman Reigns
Randy Orton is bringing some great work to the table in this feud and ever since the Shield disbanded all three competitors are shining in their respective roles with Roman set for big things in the main event scene in the not to distant future, expect the inveitable Cena/Reigns programme by the end of the year. His in ring ability is getting better yet personally I think he still suffers on the microphone despite the crowd being red-hot behind him.
Reigns has much more to gain from this match and should come out victorious.
Seth Rollins Vs Dean Ambrose Lumberjack match
Despite the stupid lumberjack stipulation- there were so many more options, a first blood match, Falls Count anywhere hell ever a strap match all could’ve offered a much more entertaining affair- again this has the potential to steal the show hand leave fans with jaws firmly planted on the floor particularly from Ambrose; The man oozes charisma and his reckless nature will play well off Rollins and his athletic and kinetic move-set.
Rollins has came into his own as the epitome of heel stooge to HHH and this relentlessness will make this one hell of a match but against better judgement my pick lies firmly with my heart and the affinity I have for Ambrose
Dean Ambrose to win.
Brock Lesnar Vs John Cena (c) WWE Championship match.
Expect this to be a brutal, bloody affair. There is no love lost between these to and the man who ended the streak is firmly set to end the reign of John Cena and become the new WWE champion.
From a legitimacy standpoint would seem stupid for him to not win the title after ending Takers streak at this years ‘Mania. The previous encounter was an incredible match and expect this one to be just as good.
Although Brock is firm favourite to win this encounter a sneaky feeling in the pit of my stomach has Cena retaining the Belt so in a controversial move my pick for the win is JOHN CENA!!!!
John Cena to retain the WWE Championship.
