WWE News Roundup: Lana, CM Punk, Samoa Joe & Goldberg On Ryback

May 29, 2015 by Joey Keogh

  • Lana Face Turn In Dispute
    According to Wrestling News, everyone’s favourite Russian isn’t as good as she’s been letting on, with fans reporting that Lana is still working as a heel at house shows, helping Rusev as he tries to gain the advantage over Cena (although he’s still losing, obviously, because he’s being buried hard for some unknown reason). Story-lines are often tested on house show crowds before being committed to TV, so the writers may be seeing what kind of reaction Heel Lana gets compared to Face Lana. Or, for once, this is a properly thought-out angle and she’s going to turn on Ziggler sooner rather than later.

  • Punk To Wrestle Samoa Joe?
    Following the hugely exciting debut of TNA legend Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable, AIWrestling promoter John Thorne took to Twitter to joke that he’d cancel an upcoming match if CM Punk wanted to take on Joe instead. Joe, who is also set to appear at a ROH event in June, had previously implied on Jim Ross‘s podcast that Punk wanted to have one last shot in the ring, and the straight edge superstar himself soon replied to Thorne’s tweet to suggest that Joe may not have been kidding:

@JohnThorneAIW @JohnnyGargano @SamoaJoe how much?

  • Goldberg Thinks Ryback Needs “His Own Identity”
    In a recent interview with Busted Open Radio, via Sirius XM, Goldberg was asked for his thoughts on the man everyone yells his name at, Ryback, and wasted no time in explaining that the Big Guy really needs to get his own identity, and that he feels kind of sorry for him. He also claims not to have watched any WWE content since he originally left the ring, but, although he has no immediate plans to return, he wouldn’t completely rule it out if the money was right. No news yet on whether he’d agree to take on his young upstart counterpart.
